Your session is planned around your baby rather than a rigid schedule. We pause whenever your baby needs to be fed, changed or held, and no pose is forced for the sake of completing a specific setup.

Baby-Led Posing
Your baby’s comfort determines the pace and direction of the session. I never force a pose or continue with a setup that is not appropriate for your baby. Feeding, changing and soothing breaks are expected.
Complete Guidance
Before the session, I help plan colors, setups, family clothing and the types of portraits you would like to create. During the session, I guide parents and siblings through comfortable positioning so you do not need to know what to do in front of the camera.

From Proof to Finished Portrait
After your session, you will receive an online proofing gallery. Once you select your favorite images, each chosen portrait is professionally finished with careful attention to skin tones, distracting details and the natural appearance of your baby.

Your Boston Newborn Photography Experience: Start to Finish
1. Reserve Availability During Pregnancy
Contact me during pregnancy so I can reserve availability around your due date. You do not need to know the exact session date at this stage.
2. Let Me Know When Your Baby Arrives
After your baby arrives and you have had time for the first pediatric appointments, contact me so we can choose the actual session date. If your baby arrives early, late or needs additional hospital time, we will adjust.
3. Complete the Planning Questionnaire
Before the session, you will receive a questionnaire covering colors, setups, parent portraits, siblings and other preferences. I use your responses to prepare the studio before you arrive.
4. Attend Your Session
A full newborn session generally lasts two to three hours. That time includes feeding, changing and soothing breaks along with wrapped portraits, individual newborn images, props and family photographs. Petite newborn sessions are shorter and use a simpler wrapped setup.
5. View Your Proofing Gallery
A few days after the session, we will meet over Zoom to review your proofing gallery and make your image selections. The proofing images allow you to review the complete variety and select the portraits you would like professionally finished.
6. Select and Receive Your Finished Images
Once your selections are submitted, your chosen images receive final professional retouching. The completed high-resolution image files are then delivered through your online gallery.

I’m Danielle Bustamante, a newborn, maternity and portrait photographer with more than 20 years of professional experience. I earned a BA in Advertising Photography and completed an internship with Annie Leibovitz in New York City before building my portrait business.
As a mother of three, I understand that new parents may arrive tired, uncertain about being photographed and focused entirely on their baby. My job is to guide the session, handle the photography details and create an environment where you do not feel rushed or expected to perform.
My approach combines carefully posed newborn portraits with natural parent, sibling and family photographs. The result is a varied gallery that documents both your baby’s individual details and your family together.

Your baby’s safety and comfort guide every part of the session. I use baby-led posing, support newborns appropriately and never force a position. The studio, session materials and posing surfaces are cleaned between babies, and parents remain nearby throughout the session.

I recommend reserving availability during pregnancy. I hold space around your due date and schedule the actual session after your baby arrives. Newborn sessions are ideally completed during the first two to three weeks, but older newborns can also be photographed with additional flexibility.

Can parents and siblings participate?
Yes. Parent, sibling and complete family portraits can be included in a full newborn session. These photographs are generally completed near the beginning so young children do not have to remain in the studio during the entire newborn portion.
Do you offer in-home newborn sessions near Boston?
Yes. In-home newborn sessions are available for families who prefer to remain at home. Studio sessions provide access to the complete collection of wraps, outfits, props and prepared posing areas, while in-home sessions offer the familiarity of your own space. We can discuss which option best fits your family.
