There’s something so special about capturing a brand-new baby in their first few days of life, and Baby Charlie’s newborn session was nothing short of magical! This sweet little guy came into the studio wrapped in a soft sage green swaddle that his mom had chosen—a perfect, calming color that complemented his delicate features beautifully.

One of the most heartwarming moments of the session was when we placed Charlie next to a precious bunny that his mom brought along. The bunny, dressed in a knit sweater embroidered with Charlie’s name, added such a personal touch to the photos. We even got a picture of him snuggled right up to it, and I have a feeling this bunny will become his favorite stuffed animal as he grows.

Newborn sessions are best done within the first two weeks of birth when babies are still in that sleepy, curled-up stage. During this time, they’re more likely to settle into those sweet, cozy poses that parents love. After those first few weeks, babies become more alert and less inclined to stay in the womb-like positions that make newborn photography so timeless.

I can’t wait to have Charlie back in the studio for a sitter session in a few months or even a fun cake smash when he turns one! Watching little ones grow and capturing their milestones is truly one of the best parts of being a newborn photographer.
