Questions I Get All the Time (And Love Answering!)
When should I book my newborn session?
It’s best to book your session while you’re still pregnant—typically in your second or early third trimester. I reserve a limited number of newborns each month to ensure flexibility once your baby arrives. We'll pencil in your due date, then schedule the exact session date once your little one is here.
How old should my baby be?
Newborn sessions are ideally done within the first 7–21 days after birth, when babies are still sleepy and curled up. That said, every baby is different, and beautiful images can absolutely be captured outside that window, especially for families who need a bit more time.
What if my baby doesn’t sleep?
That’s totally okay! I follow a baby-led approach, allowing time for feeding, snuggling, and soothing throughout the session. Some of my favorite images come when babies are awake and gazing at the camera. Whether your baby sleeps soundly or stays alert, I work with their rhythm to create a calm, beautiful experience.
Do I need to bring outfits or props?
Nope! I’ve got it all covered. My studio is stocked with soft wraps, cozy textures, timeless props, and a curated collection of newborn outfits, headbands, and accessories. If you have a sentimental item you’d like to include, just let me know — I love personal touches.
Can siblings and parents be included?
Absolutely. Family and sibling portraits are some of the most meaningful images from a newborn session. I’ll guide you through gentle, natural poses to capture your growing family in a way that feels relaxed and connected.
What safety precautions do you take?
Your baby’s safety is my #1 priority. I’ve been professionally trained in newborn posing and always use techniques that support your baby’s body naturally and securely. My studio is cleaned and sanitized between every session, and I always work with clean hands, gentle handling, and careful attention to your baby’s cues.
